St John Island

Saint John’s Island, previously known as Pulau Sakijang Bendera, is one of the Southern Islands in Singapore. It is located approximately 6.5 km south of Singapore’s main island.

St John’s Island is a popular getaway spot for locals and tourists. The island’s rustic vibe and non-commercialized setting make it a draw for people who just want to escape from the concrete jungle that is Singapore for half a day! Swimming on the beaches and having a picnic with friends and family is a must on the island!

You can also visit the St John’s Island Trail or the Sisters’ Island Marine Park Public Gallery.

Pulau Hantu

For a full-day trip, why not try Pulau Hantu

Despite its forbidding name, Pulau Hantu is a favourite haunt for fishing, scuba diving and snorkelling enthusiasts because of its sheltered beaches, swimming lagoons and inviting waters. The islands are popular with campers and day-trippers who prefer a unique outdoor experience.

Pulau Hantu has rich reefs despite its proximity to Pulau Bukom’s refineries. A wide variety of corals can be found on Pulau Hantu, and mushroom corals are particularly abundant in the waters surrounding the islands. Common sea life also includes clownfish or anemonefish, damselfishes, wrasses, and angelfish. The rare giant clam and the seahorse can sometimes be seen. There is a small patch of mangroves between Pulau Hantu Kecil and Pulau Hantu Besar, where native seashore plants also line their beaches.

Pulau Ubin

Pulau Ubin

A fantastic all-day trip, or even an overnight cruise, Pulau Ubin makes for a great excursion.

Pulau Ubin, also simply known as Ubin, is an island northeast of Singapore, west of Pulau Tekong. The granite quarry used to be supported by a few thousand settlers on Pulau Ubin in the 1960s, but only about 38 villagers remained as of 2012. It is one of the last rural areas to be found in Singapore, with an abundance of natural flora and fauna.

Pulau Ubin’s wooden house villages and wooden jetties, relaxed inhabitants, rich and preserved wildlife, abandoned quarries and plantations, and untouched nature make it the last witness of the old kampong Singapore that existed before modern industrial times and large-scale urban development.
